PHAZE completes Becita Wall Mural

2 July 2018

Becita Wall

Once again some of our young PHAZE artists have been working with a professional Urban Artist to create two murals in Willagee. The primary aim of the project is to provide a positive mentoring opportunity for a small number of PHAZE participants who show particular talent and interest in the art form and would benefit from being involved. It’s about creating a community art piece, but also about skills relating to responding to a brief, working as part of a team, pushing the boundaries in terms of their own design and painting abilities etc. The outcome has been great as you can see with a once very drab wall now being revitalised with colour. The basic theme they were given was hair and fashion so it’s a nice nod to both those things!

We also have a mural taking shape in the courtyard of Willagee library which has involved some of the young local people who come to drop-in and the after school programs run at the library. Watch this space for the completed mural in the next few days.

What do you think of this PHAZE mural?
