Harmony Week 2019

3 April 2019

Harmony Week: Tour and Tucker Workshop

The City of Melville community enjoyed a series of multicultural activities and events at local community centres and libraries to celebrate Harmony Week in 2019. Harmony Week runs from 15 to 21 March every year, and encourages everyone to experience, explore and appreciate WA’s wealth of cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic diversity and celebrate our vibrant multicultural state.

Events and activities included a pop-up photo booth at Willagee Library, a children’s choir performance, a bush tucker workshop and tour at Piney Lakes and a day of multicultural food and performance at Bull Creek Community Centre.

Whilst the City celebrated its cultural diversity, there was also reflection on the importance of Harmony Week after the recent shootings in Christchurch.
