Take the survey!
Thank you for your input!
The community group survey is now closed. We will analyse the responses received and use the information collected to help shape our neighbourhood plans for future years.
We're asking community groups and organisations that are based in or provide services in the City of Melville for their input into our neighbourhood plan.
Please help us to shape our neighbourhood plans for future years. It’s an opportunity for your organisation to have your voice heard and work with us to review our neighbourhood plans.
We are asking you to delegate one representative from your organisation / community group to complete a brief questionnaire/survey.
In the City’s Strategic Community Plan 2016 - 2026 we made a commitment to neighbourhood planning.
We invited the community to participate. The information gathered from the community during this consultation period will also inform our neighbourhood plans.

What are neighbourhood plans?
Each neighbourhood has its own character and uniqueness. Neighbourhood Plans identify opportunities to build on assets and strengths within neighbourhoods, partnering with local people and organisations to build vibrant and connected communities and addressing issues, resources and opportunities at a suburb level.
City of Melville uses an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach, which:
- Maps community assets to be connected and prepared for action.
- Focuses on identifying and using assets and strengths in the community, rather than emphasizing the problems and deficits.
- Connects the passion of community members and provides a process to enable them to utilise these passions in positive ways.
- Is relationship driven.
- Is community driven – ‘building communities from the inside out’ (Kretzmann & McKnight, 1993).
