Accessibility and inclusion in the City of Melville
The City of Melville is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and accessible City. We have undertaken to use our knowledge and understanding of the ways in which different people access the Internet, to develop a web site that is clear and simple for everybody to use.
Access and Inclusion Plan 2012–2017
The City has developed the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2012-2017 which addresses:
- Access to the City’s services and events
- Access to buildings and facilities owned by the City of Melville
- Receiving information in appropriate formats
- A high standard of service for all people
- Making complaints
- Participating in public consultation
- Employment opportunities
This plan encourages all contractors and businesses in the City to move towards applying the principles of access and inclusion, making the City of Melville truly accessible to the whole community.

Translating and Interpreting Service
This service is designed to ensure that non-English speakers are not disadvantaged and can access City of Melville services equitably. This service is free for non-English speaking residents and ratepayers.
For language assistance please contact the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 131 450 and ask them to contact the City of Melville Customer Service on 1300 635 845.
National Relay Service
The National Relay Service (NRS) can help people who have difficulty hearing or speaking on the phone by involving a relay officer in the call and in most cases you typing or reading using a special phone called a TTY, or by internet relay on a computer.
